Dr. Debbie Edwards - Veterinarian

Dr. Debbie Edwards is our Lead Veterinarian and founder of Best Friends Animal Hospital.

She was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Marietta, GA. She obtained her B.S. from Kennesaw State College and her DVM degree from the University of Georgia. After graduating in 1999, she practiced in the Atlanta area for several years before moving to Statesboro with her husband, Dr. Gary Edwards. Together, they opened Gateway Animal Hospital in 2002 and in 2008 she opened Best Friends Animal Hospital.

Dr. Debbie's passions in veterinary medicine include dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and feline medicine. Her hobbies include crocheting, gardening, and participating in multiple sports.

In her spare time, she enjoys the company of her daughter, Peyton, their menagerie of cats and dogs, and of course, Dr. Gary.
